What is CBD used for?

How does CBD affect the human body?

The human brain produces cannabinoids itself. These are very similar to the cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant. The brain produces cannabinoids through the so-called endocannabinoid system. This system regulates important bodily functions, including the immune system.

The cannabinoids that your brain produces itself interact with certain receptors in the body. These receptors are located, among other things, in the central nervous system and the immune system and connect with the cannabinoids. There is an effect in the body, such as killing a cell or stopping inflammation.

Two different receptors play a role in the use of CBD drops:
  • CB1 receptors are mainly located in the brain, but also in the liver, kidneys and lungs.
  • CB2 receptors are mainly located in the immune system.

When you ingest cannabinoids from the cannabis plant, it interacts with specific receptors in the body, just as you would with your own cannabinoids. Every cannabinoid in the cannabis plant is different and interacts with the receptors in a different way. So, this leads to different effects in the body.

CBD is quite unique and works differently from most cannabinoids. Research has shown that it does not interact with receptors in the same way as most other cannabinoids. Rather, it hardly connects to the receptors and ensures that they function optimally.

What is CBD used for?

CBD, such as from our Classic CBD-Oil, is used for many different areas of application and for different symptoms. People often try and then keep using it because it makes them feel good and in balance.

Anxiety and stress

Everyone has stress from time to time. Think of an important appointment, exams, a lost love, the covid-19 virus, graduation stress, a sick family member or long and busy working days.
Initially, CBD was mainly known as an application for the relief of stress and anxiety complaints. In 2011, scientists published an article in the Journal of Psychopharmacology in response to a study of the relationship between CBD and social anxiety disorders. It suggests that CBD can provide relief for people with an anxiety disorder. Another study from the same year found that preventive administration of CBD to public speakers significantly reduced their anxiety, stress, and discomfort. Many customers use a bottom dose of CBD and increase it as desired when needed.

Appetite and loss of appetite

One of the major diseases of affluence is in particular too much, irregular and incorrect eating. That cannot be counteracted with CBD alone. It requires a different life attitude and attitude and access to good nutrition and exercise. CBD oil can potentially suppress appetite. However, this does not seem to be due to a direct influence of the cannabinoid on mechanisms involved in appetite, but more to the soothing effect of CBD drops. After all, psychological factors strongly influence our appetite, and many people eat when they are under high pressure or feel uncomfortable.

Studies on CBD and appetite are currently ongoing, but don't underestimate the cannabinoid's potency. A few drops of CBD oil may help develop habits that promote a healthy appetite while also supporting your body to stay in balance.

Sleep problems

Good sleep is not only important to function properly, but also to prevent health damage. Chronically poor sleep increases the risk of getting diseases and disorders. But poor sleep also causes reduced energy, concentration and memory problems and irritability. It is mainly the women who have sleeping problems, according to recent research. Women generally sleep a little longer than men, but fall asleep more difficult, have more trouble sleeping and use more sleep medication than men.

The many disadvantages of sleeping pills are well known. It is not for nothing that GPs are careful to prescribe sleeping pills, because you get used to them quickly. Although they can help you to sleep better for one or a few days, sleep aids also have many disadvantages: they also have side effects such as daytime drowsiness and concentration problems and they increase the risk of falling, especially in the elderly. The cannabinoids from hemp support the body's own endocannabinoid level. This ensures that you fall asleep more easily, sleep longer and that the sleep quality improves.

In addition, the CBD affects the entire sleep cycle; it increases the deep third stage of sleep and decreases the duration of the brake sleep. The third stage of sleep is said to be the most important stage for those suffering from a sleep disorder. A shorter period of REM sleep has been associated with a reduction in symptoms of depression. Many CBD users also report that they sleep more relaxed and sleep better and are less tired during the day, which benefits their energy levels.

Memory

The importance of a strong, functional memory is something that is often overlooked, but without its life would be a lot more difficult. Every skill we've learned over time has been preserved by memory. There are a number of neurodegenerative diseases associated with the endocannabinoid system - Huntington's disease, and Parkinson's disease, are some of the most common. It is thought that when the body's cannabinoids interact with the CB1 and CB2 receptors, they affect the release of neurochemicals in the brain, which in turn affect how brain cells communicate with each other.
In addition to affecting the interaction of the brain cells, thereby reducing the deterioration of brain functioning, CBD is also thought to further improve the symptoms of dementia by reducing inflammation and oxygen accumulation in the brain. It can also reduce the stress and anxiety symptoms often experienced by a patient with dementia. Multiple reports are promising and hopefully further research will help us further understand how it works.

Intestines nutrition and energy

Intestines are the largest organ in our body. If something is wrong there, you can feel it throughout your body. It greatly affects how you feel. Healthy intestines are therefore a precious asset. Unfortunately, not everyone has trouble-free intestines.

CBD is good for the balance between beneficial and unfavorable bacteria in the gut. It also increases resistance to harmful bacteria and fungi. Our Gold Mild CBD oil, for example, helps to maintain a better immune system, natural bowel movements and more energy. For example, CBD oil contributes to a better resistance, natural bowel movements and more energy. In people with a bowel disease, the immune system can be and remain overactive, even if there is no reason to do so. CBD oil can have a positive effect on the intestinal balance, has an anti-inflammatory effect and promotes intestinal healing. It calms the runaway immune system, as it were. In people with a bowel disease, the immune system can and remains overactive if there is no reason for it.

The intake of CBD drops can have a positive effect on the intestinal balance: in many cases it exhibits an anti-inflammatory effect and promotes intestinal healing. It calms the runaway immune system.

Pain relief

CBD acts on your central nervous system and creates a calming effect. The muscles relax and aches and pains are less noticeable. People with chronic (pain) complaints have therefore been swearing by the drug for some time. It is also regularly used by people with rheumatism and osteoarthritis. The University of Nottingham conducted research and found that cannabis oil not only acts on the central nervous system to reduce pain, but also reduces inflammation in joints.
The relaxing effect of CBD drops would also help relieve headaches and migraines. The different types of headaches often arise from a decrease in the serotonin level in the brain. Why this happens, scientists unfortunately do not yet know. CBD products have various positive effects in the body. CBD regulates the pain stimuli to the brain and thus ensures that the pain stimuli are less noticeable. It also has a muscle relaxing effect. This will also relax the muscles in the head and reduce the complaints of headaches or migraines. The hypersensitivity to light and sound is also dimmed. Most of the time, nausea is caused by the rapid decrease in serotonin levels in the brain. CBD can help return serotonin levels to normal. Researchers currently assume that CBD oil mainly has a preventive effect. Doctor Philip Denney, who specializes in cannabinoids, including CBD, believes that CBD could be one of the best natural medicines for headaches or migraines.

Depression

CBD oil causes our body to produce more serotonin, resulting in more self-confidence and less stress. Antidepressants that help some people with dark thoughts work in this way. They ensure a good balance of the neurotransmitters, of which serotonin is an example. CBD drops are therefore seen as a natural alternative to antidepressants. In contrast to agents such as oxazepam and Prozac (well-known antidepressants), which are made in laboratories. Of course, treating depression isn't just about restoring your serotonin balance. Depression is known to have many causes.

In summary, however, it can be said that CBD can also make depression more bearable by relieving the emotional state and with our Boost CBD it can soon improve again.
